Fits the 2016–2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The plug-and-play memory harness remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.

It does not delete the feature. Turning stop-start back on is the same button press as before, and the module will remember that too. Removing it returns the vehicle to its original default.

How Start&Stop behaves from the factory

With Start&Stop active, the engine shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop and restarts when you lift off the brake or press the accelerator. The off button is a manual override for that drive only. Turn the ignition off and back on, and the system defaults to on again, so drivers who prefer it off end up pressing the button at the start of every trip.

If something does not look right

If the setting is not remembered, check that the module was installed with the ignition off and that the connector clicked into place. Then press the factory button once, switch the vehicle off, close the doors, give the electronics time to shut down, and start again. If it still resets, contact support with the year, trim and a photo of the connector.

Day-to-day use

Stop-start saves the most fuel in long idles, but plenty of drivers would rather keep the engine running. Common reasons: towing or hauling, where an engine restart under load is unwelcome; drive-thru lines and parking lots, where the engine cycles on and off every few feet; hot days, when the A/C compressor stops with the engine on many vehicles; and stop-and-go traffic where the restart delay is noticeable when pulling into a gap. On a sport sedan, any of these can mean a button press at the start of nearly every drive.

Because it is plug-in only, removal is the reverse: unplug the module and reconnect the factory connectors directly. Keep the original clips and trim fasteners if you remove a panel to reach the connector.

Keep the battery healthy

If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.
