2020-2022 Lincoln Nautilus Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Center-Panel Memory Module
Product function
Vehicle fitment: 2020–2022 Lincoln NAUTLUS. Every row in the fitment table is listed as a 100% fitment match. In these years the NAUTLUS is a midsize luxury SUV. Trim is not split out, so any Lincoln NAUTLUS in these years with factory Auto Start-Stop and the pictured connector is covered.
The reason behind it: Most systems are non-latching because of how the EPA rates fuel economy. A system that can stay off is tested both on and off and the results averaged, which lowers the label figure.
Confirm first: Match the year to a table row and make sure the Lincoln NAUTLUS has Auto Start-Stop. Compare your connector with the product photos.
The job it does: Auto Start-Stop normally resets to on at every key cycle. This center-panel memory module stores the last setting you chose and applies it at the next start.
Fitting: It installs behind the center switch panel that carries the stop-start button. No coding or dealer visit is needed.
Reversibility: Take it out and the Lincoln NAUTLUS behaves as it did from the factory. Keep the instructions in case you need to remove it before a service visit.
Shipping and warranty: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description
Fits the 2020–2022 Lincoln NAUTLUS. The center-panel memory module remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. It installs behind the center switch panel that carries the stop-start button.
You can still use the original button at any time. Whatever you select last is what the module repeats on the next start. Take the module out and the vehicle behaves exactly as it did from the factory.
Fitment
Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):
- Lincoln NAUTLUS: 2020–2022
The listing is written around the second-generation (2019-2023) Nautilus. Trim levels are not split out in the table, so confirm that your vehicle has the stop-start button before ordering.
Why the button resets
Auto Start-Stop is designed to default to on. The off switch (usually marked with an "A" inside a circular arrow) cancels it for the current drive. At the next start the system is armed again. That reset is intentional on the manufacturer's side, and it is the only behavior this module changes.
If something does not look right
A warning light that appears after installation usually means a connector is not fully seated. Switch the ignition off, reseat both ends until the locks click, and test again. If the light stays on, remove the module and confirm the vehicle is fault-free on its own before contacting support.
Conditions the factory system checks
The factory system will skip an auto stop for many reasons: battery charge below its threshold, cold coolant, high climate-control load, a steep grade, the hood or driver door open, or a 4WD or tow mode on vehicles that have them. Those checks stay in control after this module is installed. It does not force stops and it does not bypass any of those safety inputs.
What the module does and does not do
- Does not disable warning lights or diagnostic functions.
- Comes out in the same way it went in, with nothing cut.
- Carries your stop-start choice over to the next drive.
- Fuel use changes only the way it would if you pressed the off button yourself.
Typical reasons to keep it off
Some owners only want stop-start off in certain seasons or on certain trips, such as towing a trailer or crawling through summer traffic with the A/C working hard. Because the module remembers whatever you chose last, it works both ways: leave the system off for a week, then switch it back on with the factory button and it stays on.
Connecting it
It installs behind the center switch panel that carries the stop-start button. Work with the ignition off. Seat each connector until its lock engages, then secure the module with the supplied ties or tape so it cannot rattle or touch pedals, steering parts or anything hot. Start the vehicle, press the stop-start button once, then restart to confirm the choice is held.
A note on the battery
If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.
Check before you order
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2020–2022 Lincoln NAUTLUS).
- Your Lincoln NAUTLUS has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.
Shipping and support
We ship free within the contiguous United States (1–2 business days to dispatch, roughly 3–4 business days in transit). If it turns out to be the wrong part, request a return authorization within 45 days; returns carry a 20% restocking fee and return postage is on the buyer. Coverage is a 3-year limited warranty. Questions go to support@automotivebypass.com, weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.
Questions & Answers
Why does my Lincoln NAUTLUS sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Which Lincoln NAUTLUS years does this fit?
The listed range is 2020–2022. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Will Auto Start-Stop come back on when I restart my Lincoln NAUTLUS?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
How does it connect?
It installs behind the center switch panel that carries the stop-start button.
Does my Lincoln NAUTLUS need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Why does Auto Start-Stop turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Lincoln NAUTLUS?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Start-Stop switched on at every start.
Is this the same part for every Lincoln?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
