2020-2025 Toyota RAV4 A-OFF Start Stop Eliminator | 6-Inch Memory Harness
Product function
Applications: Listed for the 2020–2025 Toyota RAV4. Every row in the fitment table is listed as a 100% fitment match. In these years the RAV4 is a compact SUV. Trim is not split out, so any Toyota RAV4 in these years with factory Stop & Start and the pictured connector is covered.
Order check: Match the year to a table row and make sure the Toyota RAV4 has Stop & Start. Compare your connector with the product photos. If other electronics have been added on that circuit, email support before ordering.
Core function: From the factory, the Toyota RAV4 turns Stop & Start on again each time the engine starts. The module keeps your previous selection, so one press is enough. Switch it off once and it stays off; switch it on and that is remembered too.
If you change your mind: Take it out and the Toyota RAV4 behaves as it did from the factory.
Connection: The 6-inch harness plugs in between the A-OFF switch and its factory connector; the short lead keeps the module tucked behind the panel. No coding or dealer visit is needed.
Shipping, returns, warranty: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description
Fits the 2020–2025 Toyota RAV4. The 6-inch memory harness remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. The 6-inch harness plugs in between the A-OFF switch and its factory connector; the short lead keeps the module tucked behind the panel.
It does not delete the feature. Turning stop-start back on is the same button press as before, and the module will remember that too. Removing it returns the vehicle to its original default.
Covered model years
Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):
- Toyota RAV4: 2020–2025
The listing is written around the fifth-generation (2019-up) RAV4. The table does not separate trims; what matters is that the vehicle has factory stop-start and the connector shown in the photos.
How Stop & Start behaves from the factory
Stop & Start is designed to default to on. The off switch (usually marked with an "A" inside a circular arrow) cancels it for the current drive. At the next start the system is armed again. That reset is intentional on the manufacturer's side, and it is the only behavior this module changes.
Scope of the module
- No tune, no reflash, no change to horsepower or shift points.
- Stores the stop-start choice you made last and repeats it at the next start.
- Keeps the original switch fully functional.
- Fully reversible: unplug it and the vehicle returns to factory behavior.
Troubleshooting notes
A warning light that appears after installation usually means a connector is not fully seated. Switch the ignition off, reseat both ends until the locks click, and test again. If the light stays on, remove the module and confirm the vehicle is fault-free on its own before contacting support.
When the engine will not auto-stop anyway
Auto stop needs several conditions at once: a warm engine, enough battery charge, moderate cabin heating or cooling demand, and the vehicle fully stopped with the brake held. If any is missing, the engine keeps running. The module only remembers the button state; the factory controller still decides whether a stop is allowed.
Battery and charging
Most stop-start systems watch battery condition closely through a sensor on the negative terminal. When the battery ages, the system quietly stops auto-stopping long before the battery fails to crank. Keeping the original battery type (AGM or EFB) and a clean, tight ground connection avoids a lot of confusion about why the system behaves differently from week to week.
Connecting it
The 6-inch harness plugs in between the A-OFF switch and its factory connector; the short lead keeps the module tucked behind the panel. Because it is plug-in only, removal is the reverse: unplug the module and reconnect the factory connectors directly. Keep the original clips and trim fasteners if you remove a panel to reach the connector.
Why owners turn it off
Drivers usually switch stop-start off for comfort or habit. A restart at every stop is noticeable in a compact SUV, the climate system may run at reduced output while the engine is off, and quick moves into traffic feel slower when the engine has to fire first. If those are your reasons, you probably press the button on every drive now. With the module, you press it once.
Check before you order
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2020–2025 Toyota RAV4).
- Your Toyota RAV4 has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
Which Toyota RAV4 years does this fit?
The listed range is 2020–2025. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Will Stop & Start come back on when I restart my Toyota RAV4?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Why does my Toyota RAV4 sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
How does it connect?
The 6-inch harness plugs in between the A-OFF switch and its factory connector; the short lead keeps the module tucked behind the panel.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Stop & Start switched on at every start.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Toyota RAV4?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Does my Toyota RAV4 need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Is this the same part for every Toyota?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
Why does Stop & Start turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
