2022-2025 Toyota Tundra Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Dash Switch Memory Harness
Product function
Made for: 2022–2025 Toyota Tundra models. The fitment table shows a 100% fitment match for each year. In these years the Tundra is a full-size pickup. Trims are not listed separately; what matters is a factory Stop & Start button and the connector shown in the photos.
Check these points: Confirm the model year and that the vehicle was built with Stop & Start. Look at the connector in the photos before ordering.
Core function: Each restart puts Stop & Start back to its default of on. The switch memory harness remembers your last choice and sends it again when you restart.
Going back to stock: Disconnect it and Stop & Start resets at every start again. It leaves no trace on the factory wiring.
Fitting: It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before. Nothing is reprogrammed.
Factory conditions: Stop-start vehicles use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts. If the battery is weak or the cabin needs heat or cooling, the vehicle skips auto-stop on its own.
What it leaves alone: Your Stop & Start button keeps working. It does not alter the engine tune, shift programming or charging.
Order details: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description
This switch memory harness is for the 2022–2025 Toyota Tundra. It stores the last stop-start setting you chose, so if you turned Stop & Start off on one drive, it stays off the next time you start the engine. It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before.
You can still use the original button at any time. Whatever you select last is what the module repeats on the next start. Take the module out and the vehicle behaves exactly as it did from the factory.
Vehicles and years covered
Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):
- Toyota Tundra: 2022–2025
The table does not separate trims; what matters is that the vehicle has factory stop-start and the connector shown in the photos.
What the factory system does
On the Toyota Tundra, Stop & Start shuts the engine down at a stop and fires it back up as the brake is released. You can switch it off with the dash button, but the choice is not saved. The next ignition cycle brings the default back. The module keeps the choice you made instead.
Typical reasons to keep it off
Some owners only want stop-start off in certain seasons or on certain trips, such as towing a trailer or crawling through summer traffic with the A/C working hard. Because the module remembers whatever you chose last, it works both ways: leave the system off for a week, then switch it back on with the factory button and it stays on.
What to expect
- Leaves no permanent change after removal.
- Holds the stop-start button state between drives.
- Leaves engine and transmission software untouched.
- Lets you re-enable the system with the factory button at any time.
Things that already block an auto stop
A Toyota Tundra that rarely auto-stops is often telling you something about the battery. Stop-start vehicles usually run an AGM or EFB battery, and the system is one of the first features to drop out as that battery ages. Cabin temperature requests, engine temperature and brake pressure also factor in. None of these checks are altered by the module.
Troubleshooting notes
If the setting is not remembered, check that the module was installed with the ignition off and that the connector clicked into place. Then press the factory button once, switch the vehicle off, close the doors, give the electronics time to shut down, and start again. If it still resets, contact support with the year, trim and a photo of the connector.
Installing the switch memory harness
It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before. Because it is plug-in only, removal is the reverse: unplug the module and reconnect the factory connectors directly. Keep the original clips and trim fasteners if you remove a panel to reach the connector.
Battery and charging
Most stop-start systems watch battery condition closely through a sensor on the negative terminal. When the battery ages, the system quietly stops auto-stopping long before the battery fails to crank. Keeping the original battery type (AGM or EFB) and a clean, tight ground connection avoids a lot of confusion about why the system behaves differently from week to week.
Quick fitment check
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2022–2025 Toyota Tundra).
- Your Toyota Tundra has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Will Stop & Start come back on when I restart my Toyota Tundra?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
How does it connect?
It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Toyota Tundra?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Which Toyota Tundra years does this fit?
The listed range is 2022–2025. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Stop & Start switched on at every start.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Does my Toyota Tundra need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Why does Stop & Start turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Is this the same part for every Toyota?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
Why does my Toyota Tundra sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
