Built for the 2022–2026 Volkswagen Taos, this plug-and-play memory harness keeps Start-Stop in whatever state you left it. Press the button once, and the setting carries over to the next start. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.

It does not delete the feature. Turning stop-start back on is the same button press as before, and the module will remember that too. Removing it returns the vehicle to its original default.

How factory stop-start works on the Volkswagen Taos

Start-Stop is designed to default to on. The off switch (usually marked with an "A" inside a circular arrow) cancels it for the current drive. At the next start the system is armed again. That reset is intentional on the manufacturer's side, and it is the only behavior this module changes.

If something does not look right

A warning light that appears after installation usually means a connector is not fully seated. Switch the ignition off, reseat both ends until the locks click, and test again. If the light stays on, remove the module and confirm the vehicle is fault-free on its own before contacting support.

Keep the battery healthy

Vehicles with stop-start normally use an AGM or EFB battery sized for repeated restarts. If you replace it, use the same type and size, and follow the manufacturer's battery reset or registration step where one exists. A wrong or unregistered battery can leave the stop-start system disabled, and that has nothing to do with this module.

• Stores the stop-start choice you made last and repeats it at the next start.
• No tune, no reflash, no change to horsepower or shift points.

Conditions the factory system checks

The factory system will skip an auto stop for many reasons: battery charge below its threshold, cold coolant, high climate-control load, a steep grade, the hood or driver door open, or a 4WD or tow mode on vehicles that have them. Those checks stay in control after this module is installed. It does not force stops and it does not bypass any of those safety inputs.

People who tow, plow, idle in pickup lines, creep through heavy traffic or simply want the engine running at a light end up making the same press dozens of times a week. Seat each connector until its lock engages, then secure the module with the supplied ties or tape so it cannot rattle or touch pedals, steering parts or anything hot. Start the vehicle, press the stop-start button once, then restart to confirm the choice is held.
