2024-2026 GMC Acadia Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Plug & Play
Product function
Vehicle fitment: 2024–2026 GMC Acadia models. All rows in the fitment table are marked 100% fitment match. In these years the Acadia is a three-row midsize crossover offered with 2.5L turbo four-cylinder engines. No trim split is given, so check for the factory Auto Stop/Start button and compare the connector photo.
Battery and conditions: Stop-start vehicles use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts. If the battery is weak or the cabin needs heat or cooling, the vehicle skips auto-stop on its own.
Core function: Auto Stop/Start normally resets to on at every key cycle. The plug-and-play memory harness remembers your last choice and sends it again when you restart. Switch it off once and it stays off; switch it on and that is remembered too.
Check these points: Find your model year in the table and confirm the factory Auto Stop/Start button. Look at the connector in the photos before ordering.
Fitting: It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. The original connector is reused.
Ordering terms: Ships free within the lower 48 states: 1–2 business days to dispatch, 3–4 more on the road. A 45-day return window applies once a return is approved, less a 20% restocking fee and return shipping. 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description
Fits the 2024–2026 GMC Acadia. The plug-and-play memory harness remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
It does not delete the feature. Turning stop-start back on is the same button press as before, and the module will remember that too. Removing it returns the vehicle to its original default.
Vehicles and years covered
The fitment table for this SKU lists the following, each marked as a 100% fitment match:
- GMC Acadia: 2024–2026
For reference, the GMC Acadia in these years is a three-row midsize crossover offered with 2.5L turbo four-cylinder engines. Trim levels are not split out in the table, so confirm that your vehicle has the stop-start button before ordering.
How factory stop-start works on the GMC Acadia
The factory logic arms Auto Stop/Start every time the engine starts. Turning it off with the button only lasts until the engine is shut down. Owners who sit in stop-and-go traffic, tow, or idle in drive-throughs often prefer it off, and that is where the repeated button press comes from.
Troubleshooting notes
A warning light that appears after installation usually means a connector is not fully seated. Switch the ignition off, reseat both ends until the locks click, and test again. If the light stays on, remove the module and confirm the vehicle is fault-free on its own before contacting support.
Battery and charging
If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.
Installation and removal
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. Disconnect nothing else and splice nothing. Once both plugs are locked, tuck the harness where it will not be pinched when the panel goes back on. Test by switching Auto Stop/Start off, cycling the ignition and checking the indicator.
Why owners turn it off
Some owners only want stop-start off in certain seasons or on certain trips, such as towing a trailer or crawling through summer traffic with the A/C working hard. Because the module remembers whatever you chose last, it works both ways: leave the system off for a week, then switch it back on with the factory button and it stays on.
What the module does and does not do
- Comes out in the same way it went in, with nothing cut.
- Fuel use changes only the way it would if you pressed the off button yourself.
- Carries your stop-start choice over to the next drive.
- Does not disable warning lights or diagnostic functions.
If stop-start is not engaging
Even with Auto Stop/Start enabled, the engine control logic only stops the engine when conditions allow it. Typical blockers are a low battery state of charge, an engine that has not reached operating temperature, heavy heating or A/C demand, steering input, an open door or unlatched seatbelt, and some drive modes. If the system never seems to stop the engine, one of these is usually the reason, and the module does not change that logic.
Check before you order
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2024–2026 GMC Acadia).
- Your GMC Acadia has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
How does it connect?
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
Which GMC Acadia years does this fit?
The listed range is 2024–2026. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
Will Auto Stop/Start come back on when I restart my GMC Acadia?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
Why does my GMC Acadia sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Why does Auto Stop/Start turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Does my GMC Acadia need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Stop/Start switched on at every start.
Is this the same part for every GMC?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the GMC Acadia?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
