GMC Savana 1500 2008-2014 TPMS Sensor Emulator
Product function
Vehicle fitment: 2008–2014 GMC Savana 1500. Each listed year carries a 100% fitment match. Setup steps are in the included instructions.
Pressure routine: Use the cold inflation pressure on the driver-side door-jamb placard, not the maximum on the sidewall. Measure before driving, since warm tires read higher.
In short: The GMC Savana 1500 listens for a radio signal from a sensor in every wheel. Fit wheels without sensors and the system reports a fault. This module stands in for those sensors and keeps the dash clear.
Regulations: TPMS has been required on new US light vehicles since September 1, 2007 under FMVSS No. 138. Repair businesses are restricted by 49 U.S.C. 30122 from making TPMS inoperative.
Typical use: Vehicles that spend time on winter steel wheels or off-road wheels without sensors. A constant warning light can hide other warnings, which is why owners want it cleared.
Confirm first: Check your year and model against the table. Start from a TPMS that works normally on the original sensor wheels.
What it does not do: It does not measure tire pressure, so slow leaks will not be reported. Use a gauge and the placard pressures, checked cold, every month.
Shipping, returns, warranty: Ships free within the lower 48 states: 1–2 business days to dispatch, 3–4 more on the road. A 45-day return window applies once a return is approved, less a 20% restocking fee and return shipping. 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description
The GMC Savana 1500 expects to hear from a sensor in each wheel. When the wheels on the vehicle have no sensors, the dash shows a TPMS fault. This emulator for the 2008–2014 GMC Savana 1500 provides those signals so the warning stays off. It does not measure air pressure. Once it is in use, checking pressures with a gauge is your job, not the dashboard's.
Vehicles and years
Each row below is listed as a 100% fitment match:
- GMC Savana 1500: 2008–2014
Use the model and year rows above as the deciding check. Different receivers or sensor configurations within the same nameplate are why fitment is listed this narrowly.
The factory TPMS in brief
TPMS became mandatory on new US light vehicles (10,000 lb GVWR or less) on September 1, 2007, under FMVSS No. 138. The required system warns when a tire falls 25% below the recommended cold pressure, and separately flags a malfunction with a flashing-then-steady light. On the GMC Savana 1500, a missing sensor signal is treated as a malfunction, which is the warning this emulator is meant to address.
Manual pressure checks
Without TPMS warnings, a monthly routine does the job: tires cold, gauge on each valve, compare with the door-jamb placard, top up as needed, and look over the tread and sidewalls. Larger off-road or winter tires may call for different pressures than the factory placard; follow the tire maker's guidance in that case.
If the warning stays on
If the TPMS light remains on after setup, confirm the part matches your exact year and model, then follow the setup steps in the instructions again. A warning that persists can also point to a receiver or body-module fault, damaged wiring, or a different TPMS configuration than the one listed. The emulator cannot repair those, so a scan of the vehicle for stored codes is the next step.
Where it fits in
Most buyers have wheels without sensors that they use part of the year, such as a winter set, a track set or a show set. The emulator keeps the dash clear while those wheels are on. When the original sensor-equipped wheels go back on, the factory system can be returned to normal operation following the instructions.
Safety and legal notes
TPMS is required safety equipment on new light vehicles in the US under FMVSS No. 138, and 49 U.S.C. 30122 prohibits manufacturers, dealers and repair businesses from knowingly making such equipment inoperative. Requirements for owners and for state inspections vary. Whatever the use, a tire gauge and regular visual checks replace the warning the system would have given you.
When the original wheels go back on
Most owners switch between two sets of wheels once or twice a year. Keep the instructions with the emulator so the swap is easy to repeat, and note which wheels were on which corner. If you have the original sensor wheels mounted again and the light stays on, run the vehicle's standard TPMS relearn procedure.
What it does and does not do
- Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
- Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
- Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
- Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.
Check before you order
- Your model and year match a row above (2008–2014 GMC Savana 1500).
- The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
- No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
- You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.
- Unsure? Email your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Shipping is free to the contiguous US. Orders leave in 1–2 business days and usually arrive 3–4 business days later. Returns are accepted within 45 days with pre-approval; a 20% restocking fee applies and the buyer covers return shipping. The part carries a 3-year limited warranty, and support@automotivebypass.com answers Monday to Friday, 9–5 Pacific.
Questions & Answers
Does it measure tire pressure?
No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.
Can I go back to the original sensors?
Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.
Which GMC Savana 1500 years does this TPMS emulator fit?
The fitment table lists GMC Savana 1500 2008–2014. Match your exact model and year before ordering.
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?
Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.
Is it legal to use on the road?
TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.
Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?
No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.
Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?
Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.
Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?
The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.
Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?
Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.
Do I still need to check tire pressure?
Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.
