Product function

Applications: 2008–2013 GMC Yukon XL 2500. Every row in the fitment table is listed as a 100% fitment match. Follow the included instructions for your model.

Order check: Check your year and model against the table. Make sure the factory TPMS works on your sensor-equipped wheels.

Before road use: FMVSS No. 138 requires TPMS on new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007. Repair businesses are restricted by 49 U.S.C. 30122 from making TPMS inoperative.

Keep in mind: No real pressure readings reach the dash. A monthly cold check against the door-jamb placard replaces the dash warning. Receiver and wiring faults still need repair.

Going back: Swapping back is covered in the included instructions. The vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn afterwards.

In short: Direct TPMS on these models matches each wheel sensor by its ID. Fit wheels without sensors and the system reports a fault. This module stands in for those sensors and keeps the dash clear.

Manual checks: Set pressures to the door-jamb placard value, not the sidewall maximum. Measure before driving, since warm tires read higher. Note the readings so a slow leak shows up early.

Ordering terms: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Fitment questions go to support@automotivebypass.com (Mon–Fri, 9–5 PST); include the VIN.

Description

The GMC Yukon XL 2500 expects to hear from a sensor in each wheel. When the wheels on the vehicle have no sensors, the dash shows a TPMS fault. This emulator for the 2008–2013 GMC Yukon XL 2500 provides those signals so the warning stays off. Keep in mind that the module reports what the system expects to see, not what is actually in the tires. A good gauge becomes your tire-pressure monitor.

Covered applications

Listed applications (all 100% fitment match):

  • GMC Yukon XL 2500: 2008–2013

TPMS hardware can change within a model run (receiver version, sensor type), so match the exact model and year rather than the nameplate alone. Setup steps for your vehicle are in the included instructions.

What the factory system is doing

TPMS became mandatory on new US light vehicles (10,000 lb GVWR or less) on September 1, 2007, under FMVSS No. 138. The required system warns when a tire falls 25% below the recommended cold pressure, and separately flags a malfunction with a flashing-then-steady light. On the GMC Yukon XL 2500, a missing sensor signal is treated as a malfunction, which is the warning this emulator is meant to address.

Safety and legal notes

A TPMS emulator removes your low-pressure warning, so manual checks have to take its place: cold pressure readings from the placard, a monthly check at minimum, and a look at tread and sidewalls. Inspection and road-use rules for TPMS vary by state, and federal law limits what shops may disable. Confirm the rules for your situation before use.

Using the placard pressure

Without TPMS warnings, a monthly routine does the job: tires cold, gauge on each valve, compare with the door-jamb placard, top up as needed, and look over the tread and sidewalls. Larger off-road or winter tires may call for different pressures than the factory placard; follow the tire maker's guidance in that case.

If the warning stays on

A light that will not clear usually means a mismatch: a different year or receiver version than the listing, or a setup step that did not complete. Re-check the fitment rows and instructions. If they match, scan for codes, because a receiver or module fault will keep the light on regardless of what is installed.

Switching between wheel sets

When you go back to the original sensor-equipped wheels, remove or disconnect the emulator as the instructions describe and let the vehicle recognize its sensors again. If the original sensors were rotated or replaced, the vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn. Store the sensor wheels indoors and keep the valve caps on to keep moisture out of the valve stems.

Where it fits in

It is aimed at vehicles that spend time on wheels without sensors: off-road builds, track days, winter tires on steel wheels, or show vehicles. On each of those, a permanent TPMS light hides any other warning that might appear in the same spot, which is the main reason owners want it gone.

What it does and does not do

  • Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
  • Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
  • Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
  • Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.

Check before you order

  • Your model and year match a row above (2008–2013 GMC Yukon XL 2500).
  • The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
  • No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
  • You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.
  • Unsure? Email your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com.

Free standard shipping covers the contiguous US, with dispatch in 1–2 business days and 3–4 days on the road after that. You have 45 days to request a return (pre-approval required, 20% restocking fee, buyer-paid return shipping). The module is backed by a 3-year limited warranty. Questions & Answers
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?

Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.

Which GMC Yukon XL 2500 years does this TPMS emulator fit?

The fitment table lists GMC Yukon XL 2500 2008–2013. Match your exact model and year before ordering.

Does it measure tire pressure?

No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.

Is it legal to use on the road?

TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.

Do I still need to check tire pressure?

Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.

Can I go back to the original sensors?

Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.

Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?

Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.

Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?

Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.

Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?

No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.

Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?

The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.
