2023-2024 Honda Accord Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Plug & Play
Product function
Made for: The 2023–2024 Honda Accord. All rows in the fitment table are marked 100% fitment match. In these years the Accord is a midsize sedan. The table does not break out trims. A Honda Accord from these years with factory Auto Idle Stop and a matching connector fits.
Check these points: Find your model year in the table and confirm the factory Auto Idle Stop button. Compare your connector with the product photos. Vehicles with added remote-start or security modules should be confirmed with support.
The job it does: Each restart puts Auto Idle Stop back to its default of on. With the plug-and-play memory harness fitted, the state you left it in carries over to the next drive. Turning it back on is the same button press, and that choice is stored as well.
How it connects: It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. The original connector is reused.
What does not change: The stop-start button operates normally. It does not alter the engine tune, shift programming or charging. The vehicle still decides when conditions allow an automatic stop.
Shipping and warranty: Ships free within the lower 48 states: 1–2 business days to dispatch, 3–4 more on the road. A 45-day return window applies once a return is approved, less a 20% restocking fee and return shipping. 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description
Fits the 2023–2024 Honda Accord. The plug-and-play memory harness remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
You can still use the original button at any time. Whatever you select last is what the module repeats on the next start. Take the module out and the vehicle behaves exactly as it did from the factory.
Fitment
Every row below is listed as a 100% fitment match for this part:
- Honda Accord: 2023–2024
Trim is not listed separately. Any trim in these years with factory stop-start and the pictured connector is covered.
How Auto Idle Stop behaves from the factory
Each start of the Honda Accord begins with Auto Idle Stop enabled. The switch on the dash can disable it, but only until the key is cycled. This module records the switch position and repeats it after the restart, which is the entire job it does.
Diagnostics first
If the setting is not remembered, check that the module was installed with the ignition off and that the connector clicked into place. Then press the factory button once, switch the vehicle off, close the doors, give the electronics time to shut down, and start again. If it still resets, contact support with the year, trim and a photo of the connector.
What the module does and does not do
- Leaves engine and transmission software untouched.
- Holds the stop-start button state between drives.
- Leaves no permanent change after removal.
- Lets you re-enable the system with the factory button at any time.
When the engine will not auto-stop anyway
Even with Auto Idle Stop enabled, the engine control logic only stops the engine when conditions allow it. Typical blockers are a low battery state of charge, an engine that has not reached operating temperature, heavy heating or A/C demand, steering input, an open door or unlatched seatbelt, and some drive modes. If the system never seems to stop the engine, one of these is usually the reason, and the module does not change that logic.
Day-to-day use
Pressing the same button on every drive is what wears on owners. People who tow, plow, idle in pickup lines, creep through heavy traffic or simply want the engine running at a light end up making the same press dozens of times a week. On the Honda Accord, the module turns that into a one-time choice you can still change whenever you want.
Connecting it
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. The instructions show the connector for this application; compare it with the product photos before starting. Turn the vehicle off, make the connection, fix the module in place, and test with two or three key cycles.
Battery notes for stop-start vehicles
The module draws its power from the vehicle and does not change charging behavior. If your Honda Accord sits for long periods, the same rules apply as without it: a maintainer helps, and a battery that tests weak should be replaced with the type specified for stop-start vehicles (usually AGM or EFB).
Check before you order
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2023–2024 Honda Accord).
- Your Honda Accord has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
Will Auto Idle Stop come back on when I restart my Honda Accord?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Honda Accord?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Which Honda Accord years does this fit?
The listed range is 2023–2024. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Does my Honda Accord need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Is this the same part for every Honda?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
Why does my Honda Accord sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Why does Auto Idle Stop turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
How does it connect?
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Idle Stop switched on at every start.
