2015-2020 Ford F-150 Auto Start Stop Eliminator
Product function
Vehicle fitment: 2015–2020 Ford F-150 models. Each listed year carries a 100% fitment match in the table. In these years the F-150 is a full-size pickup offered with 2.7L and 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and 5.0L V8 engines, with the 3.0L Power Stroke diesel and 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid offered on selected years, most of the driving it sees is towing, job-site hauling and daily driving. No trim split is given, so check for the factory Auto Start-Stop button and compare the connector photo.
Reversibility: Take it out and the Ford F-150 behaves as it did from the factory.
Connection: It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions. Both ends are factory-style plugs, so nothing is cut or spliced. Nothing is reprogrammed.
What it does: Each restart puts Auto Start-Stop back to its default of on. With the inline memory harness fitted, the state you left it in carries over to the next drive. Switch it off once and it stays off; switch it on and that is remembered too.
Confirm first: Match the year to a table row and make sure the Ford F-150 has Auto Start-Stop. Make sure the connector matches the pictures. Aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway devices on the same circuit need a check with support first.
Shipping, returns, warranty: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description
This inline memory harness is for the 2015–2020 Ford F-150. It stores the last stop-start setting you chose, so if you turned Auto Start-Stop off on one drive, it stays off the next time you start the engine. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions. Both ends are factory-style plugs, so nothing is cut or spliced.
You can still use the original button at any time. Whatever you select last is what the module repeats on the next start. Take the module out and the vehicle behaves exactly as it did from the factory.
Fitment
Every row below is listed as a 100% fitment match for this part:
- Ford F-150: 2015–2020
For reference, the Ford F-150 in these years is a full-size pickup offered with 2.7L and 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and 5.0L V8 engines, with the 3.0L Power Stroke diesel and 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid offered on selected years, most of the driving it sees is towing, job-site hauling and daily driving. The listing is written around the thirteenth-generation (2015-2020) F-150. The table does not separate trims; what matters is that the vehicle has factory stop-start and the connector shown in the photos.
Why the button resets
Auto Start-Stop is designed to default to on. The off switch (usually marked with an "A" inside a circular arrow) cancels it for the current drive. At the next start the system is armed again. That reset is intentional on the manufacturer's side, and it is the only behavior this module changes.
Battery notes for stop-start vehicles
If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.
Why owners turn it off
Pressing the same button on every drive is what wears on owners. People who tow, plow, idle in pickup lines, creep through heavy traffic or simply want the engine running at a light end up making the same press dozens of times a week. On the Ford F-150, the module turns that into a one-time choice you can still change whenever you want.
Before blaming the module
If a "stop-start unavailable" or similar message appears, check the battery first. A battery that tests weak, a recent battery replacement that was not registered where the manufacturer requires it, or a fault in the battery current sensor can all disable the system. Clear up those issues before judging how the module works, because it cannot hold a setting the vehicle refuses to accept.
Connecting it
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions. Both ends are factory-style plugs, so nothing is cut or spliced. Disconnect nothing else and splice nothing. Once both plugs are locked, tuck the harness where it will not be pinched when the panel goes back on. Test by switching Auto Start-Stop off, cycling the ignition and checking the indicator.
What changes after installation
- Fuel use changes only the way it would if you pressed the off button yourself.
- Comes out in the same way it went in, with nothing cut.
- Carries your stop-start choice over to the next drive.
- Does not disable warning lights or diagnostic functions.
Conditions the factory system checks
Even with Auto Start-Stop enabled, the engine control logic only stops the engine when conditions allow it. Typical blockers are a low battery state of charge, an engine that has not reached operating temperature, heavy heating or A/C demand, steering input, an open door or unlatched seatbelt, and some drive modes. If the system never seems to stop the engine, one of these is usually the reason, and the module does not change that logic.
Quick fitment check
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2015–2020 Ford F-150).
- Your Ford F-150 has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Which Ford F-150 years does this fit?
The listed range is 2015–2020. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Will Auto Start-Stop come back on when I restart my Ford F-150?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
Why does my Ford F-150 sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Why does Auto Start-Stop turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Is this the same part for every Ford?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Start-Stop switched on at every start.
Does my Ford F-150 need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
How does it connect?
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions. Both ends are factory-style plugs, so nothing is cut or spliced.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Ford F-150?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
