Chevrolet Express 1500 / 2500 2008-2011 TPMS Sensor Emulator
Product function
Applications: 2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 1500 and 2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 2500. Every row in the fitment table is listed as a 100% fitment match. Follow the included instructions for your model.
Common setups: Vehicles that spend time on winter steel wheels or off-road wheels without sensors. A constant warning light can hide other warnings, which is why owners want it cleared.
Keep in mind: No real pressure readings reach the dash. A monthly cold check against the door-jamb placard replaces the dash warning. Receiver and wiring faults still need repair.
Check these points: Find your exact model year in the fitment rows. Make sure the factory TPMS works on your sensor-equipped wheels.
Tire care: Use the cold inflation pressure on the driver-side door-jamb placard, not the maximum on the sidewall. Cold means parked for about three hours or driven only a short distance. Include the spare and look over tread and sidewalls while you are there.
Core function: The Chevrolet Express 1500 and Chevrolet Express 2500 listens for a radio signal from a sensor in every wheel. Wheels without sensors trigger a malfunction warning. The emulator supplies the signals the system expects so the warning stays off.
Shipping, returns, warranty: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description
TPMS sensor emulator for the 2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 1500 and 2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 2500. It stands in for the factory wheel sensors so the tire-pressure monitoring system sees the signals it expects and the TPMS warning stays off when the wheels on the vehicle do not have working sensors. Keep in mind that the module reports what the system expects to see, not what is actually in the tires. A good gauge becomes your tire-pressure monitor.
Covered applications
Listed applications (all 100% fitment match):
- Chevrolet Express 1500: 2008–2011
- Chevrolet Express 2500: 2008–2011
TPMS hardware can change within a model run (receiver version, sensor type), so match the exact model and year rather than the nameplate alone. Setup steps for your vehicle are in the included instructions.
Why the warning comes on
Every wheel on the Chevrolet Express 1500 and Chevrolet Express 2500 normally carries a pressure sensor with its own ID, and the vehicle only listens for the IDs it has learned. Mount wheels without sensors and those IDs stop transmitting, so the system reports a fault. Under FMVSS No. 138, that fault shows as a TPMS light that flashes for roughly a minute at start-up and then stays lit, repeating on every start until the system sees its sensors again.
When owners use an emulator
Most buyers have wheels without sensors that they use part of the year, such as a winter set, a track set or a show set. The emulator keeps the dash clear while those wheels are on. When the original sensor-equipped wheels go back on, the factory system can be returned to normal operation following the instructions.
Responsible use
A TPMS emulator removes your low-pressure warning, so manual checks have to take its place: cold pressure readings from the placard, a monthly check at minimum, and a look at tread and sidewalls. Inspection and road-use rules for TPMS vary by state, and federal law limits what shops may disable. Confirm the rules for your situation before use.
Manual pressure checks
The number that matters is on the door-jamb placard. Measure when the tires are cold (parked for a few hours), because a warm tire reads higher. A pencil gauge is fine; a good digital gauge is easier to read. Write down the readings for a few weeks and a slow leak becomes obvious long before it becomes a flat.
Switching between wheel sets
Most owners switch between two sets of wheels once or twice a year. Keep the instructions with the emulator so the swap is easy to repeat, and note which wheels were on which corner. If you have the original sensor wheels mounted again and the light stays on, run the vehicle's standard TPMS relearn procedure.
If the warning stays on
If the TPMS light remains on after setup, confirm the part matches your exact year and model, then follow the setup steps in the instructions again. A warning that persists can also point to a receiver or body-module fault, damaged wiring, or a different TPMS configuration than the one listed. The emulator cannot repair those, so a scan of the vehicle for stored codes is the next step.
Scope
- Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
- Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
- Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
- Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.
Fitment check
- Your model and year match a row above (2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 1500 and 2008–2011 Chevrolet Express 2500).
- The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
- No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
- You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.

Questions & Answers
Which Chevrolet Express 1500 and Chevrolet Express 2500 years does this TPMS emulator fit?
The fitment table lists Chevrolet Express 1500 2008–2011; Chevrolet Express 2500 2008–2011. Match your exact model and year before ordering.
Does it measure tire pressure?
No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.
Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?
No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?
Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.
Is it legal to use on the road?
TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.
Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?
Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.
Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?
The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.
Can I go back to the original sensors?
Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.
Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?
Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.
Do I still need to check tire pressure?
Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.
