Product function

Fits: Listed for the 2008–2011, 2014–2016 Chevrolet Impala. Each listed year carries a 100% fitment match. Setup steps are in the included instructions.

Keep in mind: It reports what the system expects, not what is in the tires. Use a gauge and the placard pressures, checked cold, every month. Receiver and wiring faults still need repair.

Where it helps: A second wheel set without sensors: winter, track, off-road or show wheels. A constant warning light can hide other warnings, which is why owners want it cleared.

In short: These vehicles use direct TPMS, with a battery-powered sensor in each wheel. Missing sensors are treated as a system fault. The emulator provides the expected signals instead.

Manual checks: The figure that matters is on the door-jamb placard, not the tire sidewall. Check before the tires warm up, because heat raises the reading.

Before you order: Check your year and model against the table. Start from a TPMS that works normally on the original sensor wheels.

Reversibility: Refit the original wheels and follow the instructions to restore normal operation. The vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn afterwards.

Shipping, returns, warranty: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description

For the 2008–2011, 2014–2016 Chevrolet Impala: an emulator that supplies the TPMS signals the vehicle is looking for. Typical use is a second set of wheels that has no sensors, where the factory system would otherwise keep its warning lit. Keep in mind that the module reports what the system expects to see, not what is actually in the tires. A good gauge becomes your tire-pressure monitor.

Fitment

Listed applications (all 100% fitment match):

  • Chevrolet Impala: 2008–2011, 2014–2016

TPMS hardware can change within a model run (receiver version, sensor type), so match the exact model and year rather than the nameplate alone. Setup steps for your vehicle are in the included instructions.

The factory TPMS in brief

Every wheel on the Chevrolet Impala normally carries a pressure sensor with its own ID, and the vehicle only listens for the IDs it has learned. Mount wheels without sensors and those IDs stop transmitting, so the system reports a fault. Under FMVSS No. 138, that fault shows as a TPMS light that flashes for roughly a minute at start-up and then stays lit, repeating on every start until the system sees its sensors again.

Checking pressure yourself

A TPMS emulator removes your low-pressure warning, so manual checks have to take its place: cold pressure readings from the placard, a monthly check at minimum, and a look at tread and sidewalls. Inspection and road-use rules for TPMS vary by state, and federal law limits what shops may disable. Confirm the rules for your situation before use.

Seasonal wheel swaps

When you go back to the original sensor-equipped wheels, remove or disconnect the emulator as the instructions describe and let the vehicle recognize its sensors again. If the original sensors were rotated or replaced, the vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn. Store the sensor wheels indoors and keep the valve caps on to keep moisture out of the valve stems.

Checking pressure the right way

Use the cold inflation pressure printed on the tire placard on the driver-side door jamb, not the maximum figure molded into the tire sidewall. "Cold" means the vehicle has been parked for about three hours or driven only a short distance. Check every tire including the spare, add air in small steps, and recheck. Doing this monthly covers most of what the TPMS warning would have told you.

Troubleshooting

Before installation, make sure the TPMS system works on the original wheels. If it already shows a fault with good sensors fitted, the problem is in the vehicle (receiver, module or wiring), and that needs repair first. Starting from a working system makes the emulator setup straightforward to check.

Where it fits in

The usual situation is a second wheel set: dedicated winter wheels, track wheels or off-road wheels that were never fitted with sensors. Buying and programming a second set of sensors costs money and time, and without them the TPMS light stays on all season. An emulator covers that set while the original wheels and sensors sit in storage.

What it does and does not do

  • Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
  • Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
  • Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
  • Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.

Fitment check

  • Your model and year match a row above (2008–2011, 2014–2016 Chevrolet Impala).
  • The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
  • No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
  • You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.
  • Unsure? Email your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com.

Questions & Answers
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?

Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.

Does it measure tire pressure?

No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.

Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?

No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.

Which Chevrolet Impala years does this TPMS emulator fit?

The fitment table lists Chevrolet Impala 2008–2011, 2014–2016. Match your exact model and year before ordering.

Can I go back to the original sensors?

Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.

Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?

The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.

Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?

Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.

Do I still need to check tire pressure?

Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.

Is it legal to use on the road?

TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.

Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?

Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.
