Chevrolet Orlando 2012 / Silverado 1500 2007-2016 TPMS Sensor Emulator
Product function
Vehicle fitment: 2007–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Classic and 2012 Chevrolet Orlando. All fitment rows are marked 100% fitment match. The included instructions cover setup for each listed vehicle.
Typical use: Vehicles that spend time on winter steel wheels or off-road wheels without sensors. A constant warning light can hide other warnings, which is why owners want it cleared.
Order check: Match the model and year to a fitment row. Start from a TPMS that works normally on the original sensor wheels.
Reversibility: Swapping back is covered in the included instructions. The vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn afterwards.
Limits: It reports what the system expects, not what is in the tires. Check all tires cold with a gauge at least monthly, using the door-jamb placard pressures. It does not repair a faulty receiver, module or wiring.
In short: The Chevrolet listens for a radio signal from a sensor in every wheel. Wheels without sensors trigger a malfunction warning. This module stands in for those sensors and keeps the dash clear.
Pressure routine: Set pressures to the door-jamb placard value, not the sidewall maximum. Measure before driving, since warm tires read higher.
Order details: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description
The Chevrolet expects to hear from a sensor in each wheel. When the wheels on the vehicle have no sensors, the dash shows a TPMS fault. This emulator for the 2007–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Classic and 2012 Chevrolet Orlando provides those signals so the warning stays off. It does not measure air pressure. Once it is in use, checking pressures with a gauge is your job, not the dashboard's.
Fitment
Each row below is listed as a 100% fitment match:
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500: 2007–2016
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic: 2007
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Classic: 2007
- Chevrolet Orlando: 2012
Within these years the receiver and sensor configuration is what the emulator has to match, which is why the listing is split by model and year. The included instructions cover setup for each listed vehicle.
The factory TPMS in brief
Every wheel on the Chevrolet normally carries a pressure sensor with its own ID, and the vehicle only listens for the IDs it has learned. Mount wheels without sensors and those IDs stop transmitting, so the system reports a fault. Under FMVSS No. 138, that fault shows as a TPMS light that flashes for roughly a minute at start-up and then stays lit, repeating on every start until the system sees its sensors again.
When owners use an emulator
Most buyers have wheels without sensors that they use part of the year, such as a winter set, a track set or a show set. The emulator keeps the dash clear while those wheels are on. When the original sensor-equipped wheels go back on, the factory system can be returned to normal operation following the instructions.
When the original wheels go back on
When you go back to the original sensor-equipped wheels, remove or disconnect the emulator as the instructions describe and let the vehicle recognize its sensors again. If the original sensors were rotated or replaced, the vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn. Store the sensor wheels indoors and keep the valve caps on to keep moisture out of the valve stems.
Using the placard pressure
Without TPMS warnings, a monthly routine does the job: tires cold, gauge on each valve, compare with the door-jamb placard, top up as needed, and look over the tread and sidewalls. Larger off-road or winter tires may call for different pressures than the factory placard; follow the tire maker's guidance in that case.
Responsible use
TPMS is required safety equipment on new light vehicles in the US under FMVSS No. 138, and 49 U.S.C. 30122 prohibits manufacturers, dealers and repair businesses from knowingly making such equipment inoperative. Requirements for owners and for state inspections vary. Whatever the use, a tire gauge and regular visual checks replace the warning the system would have given you.
Diagnosis first
Before installation, make sure the TPMS system works on the original wheels. If it already shows a fault with good sensors fitted, the problem is in the vehicle (receiver, module or wiring), and that needs repair first. Starting from a working system makes the emulator setup straightforward to check.
Scope
- Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
- Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
- Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
- Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.
Confirm these points
- Your model and year match a row above (2007–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Classic and 2012 Chevrolet Orlando).
- The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
- No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
- You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.

Questions & Answers
Is it legal to use on the road?
TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.
Does it measure tire pressure?
No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.
Which Chevrolet years does this TPMS emulator fit?
The fitment table lists Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2007–2016; Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic 2007; Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Classic 2007; Chevrolet Orlando 2012. Match your exact model and year before ordering.
Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?
No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?
Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.
Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?
The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.
Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?
Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.
Can I go back to the original sensors?
Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.
Do I still need to check tire pressure?
Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.
Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?
Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.
