Product function

Fits: Listed for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic, 2008–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD and 2008–2013, 2015–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. Each listed year carries a 100% fitment match. Follow the included instructions for your model.

Who uses it: A second wheel set without sensors: winter, track, off-road or show wheels. It saves fitting another set of sensors to those wheels.

In short: Direct TPMS on these models matches each wheel sensor by its ID. Wheels without sensors trigger a malfunction warning. This module stands in for those sensors and keeps the dash clear.

Before road use: TPMS has been required on new US light vehicles since September 1, 2007 under FMVSS No. 138. 49 U.S.C. 30122 bars dealers and repair shops from knowingly disabling it, so some shops may decline to fit the emulator.

Check these points: Check your year and model against the table. Start from a TPMS that works normally on the original sensor wheels.

What it does not do: It reports what the system expects, not what is in the tires. Use a gauge and the placard pressures, checked cold, every month. Receiver and wiring faults still need repair.

Order details: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description

This module is for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic, 2008–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD and 2008–2013, 2015–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. It emulates the factory TPMS sensors, so a set of wheels without sensors does not trigger the low-tire or system-fault warning on the dash. It does not measure air pressure. Once it is in use, checking pressures with a gauge is your job, not the dashboard's.

Covered applications

Each row below is listed as a 100% fitment match:

  • Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic: 2007
  • Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD: 2008–2016
  • Chevrolet Silverado 3500: 2008–2013, 2015–2016

Use the model and year rows above as the deciding check. Different receivers or sensor configurations within the same nameplate are why fitment is listed this narrowly.

The factory TPMS in brief

Every wheel on the Chevrolet normally carries a pressure sensor with its own ID, and the vehicle only listens for the IDs it has learned. Mount wheels without sensors and those IDs stop transmitting, so the system reports a fault. Under FMVSS No. 138, that fault shows as a TPMS light that flashes for roughly a minute at start-up and then stays lit, repeating on every start until the system sees its sensors again.

Safety and legal notes

TPMS is required safety equipment on new light vehicles in the US under FMVSS No. 138, and 49 U.S.C. 30122 prohibits manufacturers, dealers and repair businesses from knowingly making such equipment inoperative. Requirements for owners and for state inspections vary. Whatever the use, a tire gauge and regular visual checks replace the warning the system would have given you.

Using the placard pressure

Without TPMS warnings, a monthly routine does the job: tires cold, gauge on each valve, compare with the door-jamb placard, top up as needed, and look over the tread and sidewalls. Larger off-road or winter tires may call for different pressures than the factory placard; follow the tire maker's guidance in that case.

When the original wheels go back on

When you go back to the original sensor-equipped wheels, remove or disconnect the emulator as the instructions describe and let the vehicle recognize its sensors again. If the original sensors were rotated or replaced, the vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn. Store the sensor wheels indoors and keep the valve caps on to keep moisture out of the valve stems.

If the warning stays on

Before installation, make sure the TPMS system works on the original wheels. If it already shows a fault with good sensors fitted, the problem is in the vehicle (receiver, module or wiring), and that needs repair first. Starting from a working system makes the emulator setup straightforward to check.

Typical uses

Most buyers have wheels without sensors that they use part of the year, such as a winter set, a track set or a show set. The emulator keeps the dash clear while those wheels are on. When the original sensor-equipped wheels go back on, the factory system can be returned to normal operation following the instructions.

What it does and does not do

  • Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
  • Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
  • Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
  • Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.

Fitment check

  • Your model and year match a row above (2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic, 2008–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD and 2008–2013, 2015–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500).
  • The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
  • No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
  • You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.
  • Unsure? Email your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com.

Warranty and returns

We ship free within the contiguous United States (1–2 business days to dispatch, roughly 3–4 business days in transit). If it turns out to be the wrong part, request a return authorization within 45 days; returns carry a 20% restocking fee and return postage is on the buyer. Coverage is a 3-year limited warranty. Questions go to support@automotivebypass.com, weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.

Questions & Answers
Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?

Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.

Does it measure tire pressure?

No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.

Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?

No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.

Which Chevrolet years does this TPMS emulator fit?

The fitment table lists Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic 2007; Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD 2008–2016; Chevrolet Silverado 3500 2008–2013, 2015–2016. Match your exact model and year before ordering.

Can I go back to the original sensors?

Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.

Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?

Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.

Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?

Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.

Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?

The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.

Is it legal to use on the road?

TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.

Do I still need to check tire pressure?

Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.
