Product function

Fits: 2019–2024 Ford Edge. The fitment table shows a 100% fitment match for each year. In these years the Edge is a midsize crossover offered with 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder and 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engines. Trim is not split out, so any Ford Edge in these years with factory Auto Start-Stop and the pictured connector is covered.

Check these points: Match the year to a table row and make sure the Ford Edge has Auto Start-Stop. Make sure the connector matches the pictures. Aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway devices on the same circuit need a check with support first.

The job it does: Each restart puts Auto Start-Stop back to its default of on. The module keeps your previous selection, so one press is enough.

Going back to stock: Disconnect it and Auto Start-Stop resets at every start again. It leaves no trace on the factory wiring.

Connection: This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button. No coding or dealer visit is needed.

Shipping, returns, warranty: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description

Fits the 2019–2024 Ford Edge. The memory harness for vehicles with Active Park Assist remembers the position of the stop-start button between drives, so the engine no longer shuts off at the first red light after every restart unless you want it to. This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button.

Nothing is reprogrammed in the engine computer. The module only stands in for the button press you would otherwise make after every start, and it comes out without leaving a trace.

Vehicles and years covered

Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):

  • Ford Edge: 2019–2024

For reference, the Ford Edge in these years is a midsize crossover offered with 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder and 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engines. The listing is written around the second-generation (2015-2024) Edge. The table does not separate trims; what matters is that the vehicle has factory stop-start and the connector shown in the photos.

How factory stop-start works on the Ford Edge

On the Ford Edge, Auto Start-Stop shuts the engine down at a stop and fires it back up as the brake is released. You can switch it off with the dash button, but the choice is not saved. The next ignition cycle brings the default back. The module keeps the choice you made instead.

Typical reasons to keep it off

Stop-start saves the most fuel in long idles, but plenty of drivers would rather keep the engine running. Common reasons: towing or hauling, where an engine restart under load is unwelcome; drive-thru lines and parking lots, where the engine cycles on and off every few feet; hot days, when the A/C compressor stops with the engine on many vehicles; and stop-and-go traffic where the restart delay is noticeable when pulling into a gap. On a midsize crossover, any of these can mean a button press at the start of nearly every drive.

If stop-start is not engaging

Even with Auto Start-Stop enabled, the engine control logic only stops the engine when conditions allow it. Typical blockers are a low battery state of charge, an engine that has not reached operating temperature, heavy heating or A/C demand, steering input, an open door or unlatched seatbelt, and some drive modes. If the system never seems to stop the engine, one of these is usually the reason, and the module does not change that logic.

What the module does and does not do

  • Keeps the original switch fully functional.
  • No tune, no reflash, no change to horsepower or shift points.
  • Fully reversible: unplug it and the vehicle returns to factory behavior.
  • Stores the stop-start choice you made last and repeats it at the next start.

Connecting it

This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button. Disconnect nothing else and splice nothing. Once both plugs are locked, tuck the harness where it will not be pinched when the panel goes back on. Test by switching Auto Start-Stop off, cycling the ignition and checking the indicator.

If something does not look right

If the setting is not remembered, check that the module was installed with the ignition off and that the connector clicked into place. Then press the factory button once, switch the vehicle off, close the doors, give the electronics time to shut down, and start again. If it still resets, contact support with the year, trim and a photo of the connector.

Battery and charging

If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.

Check before you order

  • Model year and model match a row in the table above (2019–2024 Ford Edge).
  • Your Ford Edge has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
  • No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
  • The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
  • The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
  • If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Shipping and support

Shipping is free to the contiguous US. Orders leave in 1–2 business days and usually arrive 3–4 business days later. Returns are accepted within 45 days with pre-approval; a 20% restocking fee applies and the buyer covers return shipping. The part carries a 3-year limited warranty, and support@automotivebypass.com answers Monday to Friday, 9–5 Pacific.

Questions & Answers
Will Auto Start-Stop come back on when I restart my Ford Edge?

Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.

How does it connect?

This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button.

Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?

No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.

Which Ford Edge years does this fit?

The listed range is 2019–2024. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.

Does it change engine power or fuel trims?

No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.

Why does Auto Start-Stop turn itself back on every time?

Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.

Can I remove it later?

Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.

Does my Ford Edge need the factory stop-start button for this to work?

Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.

Why does my Ford Edge sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?

The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.

What happens if I unplug it?

The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Start-Stop switched on at every start.

Does it change how the battery is charged?

No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.

Is this the same part for every Ford?

No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.

Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Ford Edge?

Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
