2019-2023 Ford Ranger Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Plug & Play
Product function
Applications: Listed for the 2019–2023 Ford Ranger. Every row in the fitment table is listed as a 100% fitment match. In these years the Ranger is a midsize pickup offered with 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder engines, most of the driving it sees is towing, job-site hauling and daily driving. The table does not break out trims. A Ford Ranger from these years with factory Auto Start-Stop and a matching connector fits.
Why the default is always on: Manufacturers make stop-start non-latching for a reason tied to EPA ratings. A latching system would be rated on the average of on and off tests, so automakers avoid it.
Good to know: Stop-start vehicles use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts. A low charge, a cold engine or high climate demand can block an automatic stop regardless of the module.
Fitting: It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. Nothing is reprogrammed.
Order check: Confirm the model year and that the vehicle was built with Auto Start-Stop. Compare your connector with the product photos.
In short: Each restart puts Auto Start-Stop back to its default of on. The module keeps your previous selection, so one press is enough.
Ordering terms: Free shipping to the contiguous US, dispatched in 1–2 business days with about 3–4 days in transit. Returns within 45 days with pre-approval (20% restocking fee, buyer pays return postage). Covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Send the VIN to support@automotivebypass.com if any row is unclear. Support answers weekdays, 9–5 Pacific.

Description
Built for the 2019–2023 Ford Ranger, this plug-and-play memory harness keeps Auto Start-Stop in whatever state you left it. Press the button once, and the setting carries over to the next start. It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
Nothing is reprogrammed in the engine computer. The module only stands in for the button press you would otherwise make after every start, and it comes out without leaving a trace.
Fitment
Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):
- Ford Ranger: 2019–2023
For reference, the Ford Ranger in these years is a midsize pickup offered with 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder engines, most of the driving it sees is towing, job-site hauling and daily driving. Trim levels are not split out in the table, so confirm that your vehicle has the stop-start button before ordering.
What the factory system does
With Auto Start-Stop active, the engine shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop and restarts when you lift off the brake or press the accelerator. The off button is a manual override for that drive only. Turn the ignition off and back on, and the system defaults to on again, so drivers who prefer it off end up pressing the button at the start of every trip.
Installing the plug-and-play memory harness
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced. The instructions show the connector for this application; compare it with the product photos before starting. Turn the vehicle off, make the connection, fix the module in place, and test with two or three key cycles.
Troubleshooting notes
If a "stop-start unavailable" or similar message appears, check the battery first. A battery that tests weak, a recent battery replacement that was not registered where the manufacturer requires it, or a fault in the battery current sensor can all disable the system. Clear up those issues before judging how the module works, because it cannot hold a setting the vehicle refuses to accept.
Why owners turn it off
Pressing the same button on every drive is what wears on owners. People who tow, plow, idle in pickup lines, creep through heavy traffic or simply want the engine running at a light end up making the same press dozens of times a week. On the Ford Ranger, the module turns that into a one-time choice you can still change whenever you want.
Battery and charging
The module draws its power from the vehicle and does not change charging behavior. If your Ford Ranger sits for long periods, the same rules apply as without it: a maintainer helps, and a battery that tests weak should be replaced with the type specified for stop-start vehicles (usually AGM or EFB).
If stop-start is not engaging
The factory system will skip an auto stop for many reasons: battery charge below its threshold, cold coolant, high climate-control load, a steep grade, the hood or driver door open, or a 4WD or tow mode on vehicles that have them. Those checks stay in control after this module is installed. It does not force stops and it does not bypass any of those safety inputs.
What to expect
- It does not change engine power, transmission shifts, emissions calibration or fuel trims.
- It remembers the last stop-start setting through a key cycle.
- It does not write anything to the vehicle's modules, and removing it restores the stock default.
- It leaves the factory button working, so you can turn stop-start back on whenever you want.
Quick fitment check
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2019–2023 Ford Ranger).
- Your Ford Ranger has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.

Questions & Answers
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Which Ford Ranger years does this fit?
The listed range is 2019–2023. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Will Auto Start-Stop come back on when I restart my Ford Ranger?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
How does it connect?
It plugs in line with the factory connector named in the instructions, using factory-style plugs on both ends, so nothing is cut or spliced.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Start-Stop switched on at every start.
Does my Ford Ranger need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
Why does Auto Start-Stop turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Ford Ranger?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Why does my Ford Ranger sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Is this the same part for every Ford?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
