This module remembers your last choice and sends it again at the next start. This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button.

The factory button stays in place and still works. Press it and the module stores the new choice. Unplug the module and the vehicle goes back to stock behavior.

For reference, the Ford Edge in these years is a midsize crossover offered with 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder and 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engines, most of the driving it sees is commuting, errands and light cargo duty. The listing is written around the second-generation (2015-2024) Edge. Trim is not listed separately. Any trim in these years with factory stop-start and the pictured connector is covered.

What the factory system does

Auto Start-Stop is designed to default to on. The off switch (usually marked with an "A" inside a circular arrow) cancels it for the current drive. At the next start the system is armed again. That reset is intentional on the manufacturer's side, and it is the only behavior this module changes.

Where it connects

This version is built for the switch bank used on vehicles equipped with Active Park Assist, which carries the stop-start button alongside the park-assist button. Disconnect nothing else and splice nothing. Once both plugs are locked, tuck the harness where it will not be pinched when the panel goes back on. Test by switching Auto Start-Stop off, cycling the ignition and checking the indicator.

Diagnostics first

If a "stop-start unavailable" or similar message appears, check the battery first. A battery that tests weak, a recent battery replacement that was not registered where the manufacturer requires it, or a fault in the battery current sensor can all disable the system. Clear up those issues before judging how the module works, because it cannot hold a setting the vehicle refuses to accept.

Conditions the factory system checks

Auto stop needs several conditions at once: a warm engine, enough battery charge, moderate cabin heating or cooling demand, and the vehicle fully stopped with the brake held. If any is missing, the engine keeps running. The module only remembers the button state; the factory controller still decides whether a stop is allowed.

Where owners notice the difference

Some owners only want stop-start off in certain seasons or on certain trips, such as towing a trailer or crawling through summer traffic with the A/C working hard. Because the module remembers whatever you chose last, it works both ways: leave the system off for a week, then switch it back on with the factory button and it stays on.

Keep the battery healthy

Vehicles with stop-start normally use an AGM or EFB battery sized for repeated restarts. If you replace it, use the same type and size, and follow the manufacturer's battery reset or registration step where one exists. A wrong or unregistered battery can leave the stop-start system disabled, and that has nothing to do with this module.

Scope of the module

• It does not change engine power, transmission shifts, emissions calibration or fuel trims.
• It does not write anything to the vehicle's modules, and removing it restores the stock default.
• It leaves the factory button working, so you can turn stop-start back on whenever you want.
• It remembers the last stop-start setting through a key cycle.

• Model year and model match a row in the table above (2019–2024 Ford Edge).
• Your Ford Edge has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
