2021-2026 Ford Bronco Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Switch Memory Harness
Product function
Made for: The 2021–2026 Ford Bronco. The fitment table shows a 100% fitment match for each year. No trim split is given, so check for the factory Auto Start-Stop button and compare the connector photo.
Good to know: The factory battery is an AGM or EFB type designed for stop-start duty. A low charge, a cold engine or high climate demand can block an automatic stop regardless of the module.
Reversibility: Unplug the module and reconnect the factory plug to return to the original behavior. Keep the instructions in case you need to remove it before a service visit.
Core function: Out of the factory, Auto Start-Stop switches back on at every start. With the switch memory harness fitted, the state you left it in carries over to the next drive.
Before you order: Find your model year in the table and confirm the factory Auto Start-Stop button. Compare your connector with the product photos.
Unchanged: The stop-start button operates normally. It does not alter the engine tune, shift programming or charging. The vehicle still decides when conditions allow an automatic stop.
Fitting: It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before. Nothing is reprogrammed.
Order details: Ships free within the lower 48 states: 1–2 business days to dispatch, 3–4 more on the road. A 45-day return window applies once a return is approved, less a 20% restocking fee and return shipping. 3-year limited warranty. Fitment questions go to support@automotivebypass.com (Mon–Fri, 9–5 PST); include the VIN.

Description
This switch memory harness is for the 2021–2026 Ford Bronco. It stores the last stop-start setting you chose, so if you turned Auto Start-Stop off on one drive, it stays off the next time you start the engine. It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before.
You can still use the original button at any time. Whatever you select last is what the module repeats on the next start. Take the module out and the vehicle behaves exactly as it did from the factory.
Vehicles and years covered
Listed applications (each row is a 100% fitment match for the factory connector this part uses):
- Ford Bronco: 2021–2026
The listing is written around the sixth-generation (2021-up) Bronco. Trim levels are not split out in the table, so confirm that your vehicle has the stop-start button before ordering.
How Auto Start-Stop behaves from the factory
Each start of the Ford Bronco begins with Auto Start-Stop enabled. The switch on the dash can disable it, but only until the key is cycled. This module records the switch position and repeats it after the restart, which is the entire job it does.
If stop-start is not engaging
Even with Auto Start-Stop enabled, the engine control logic only stops the engine when conditions allow it. Typical blockers are a low battery state of charge, an engine that has not reached operating temperature, heavy heating or A/C demand, steering input, an open door or unlatched seatbelt, and some drive modes. If the system never seems to stop the engine, one of these is usually the reason, and the module does not change that logic.
A note on the battery
If the stop-start indicator shows the system as unavailable, test the battery before anything else. On stop-start vehicles that is the most common cause. A replacement should match the original specification (AGM or EFB), and some manufacturers call for a battery monitor reset after the swap.
What the module does and does not do
- Stores the stop-start choice you made last and repeats it at the next start.
- Fully reversible: unplug it and the vehicle returns to factory behavior.
- No tune, no reflash, no change to horsepower or shift points.
- Keeps the original switch fully functional.
If something does not look right
If the setting is not remembered, check that the module was installed with the ignition off and that the connector clicked into place. Then press the factory button once, switch the vehicle off, close the doors, give the electronics time to shut down, and start again. If it still resets, contact support with the year, trim and a photo of the connector.
Installing the switch memory harness
It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before. Disconnect nothing else and splice nothing. Once both plugs are locked, tuck the harness where it will not be pinched when the panel goes back on. Test by switching Auto Start-Stop off, cycling the ignition and checking the indicator.
Where owners notice the difference
Some owners only want stop-start off in certain seasons or on certain trips, such as towing a trailer or crawling through summer traffic with the A/C working hard. Because the module remembers whatever you chose last, it works both ways: leave the system off for a week, then switch it back on with the factory button and it stays on.
Quick fitment check
- Model year and model match a row in the table above (2021–2026 Ford Bronco).
- Your Ford Bronco has the factory stop-start button. Base trims or engines without stop-start have nothing for the module to remember.
- The battery and charging system test good and no warning lights are on.
- No aftermarket remote start, alarm or gateway bypass is wired into the same circuit. If one is, email support before ordering.
- The connector at your install point matches the one in the product photos.
- If you are unsure, send your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com and we will confirm fitment.
Shipping and support
Standard shipping inside the lower 48 states costs nothing; allow 1–2 business days of handling plus 3–4 in transit. Returns need approval first and must be requested within 45 days. Approved returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, with return shipping paid by the customer. A 3-year limited warranty applies. Email support@automotivebypass.com (Mon–Fri, 9–5 PST) with your VIN if you want a fitment check.
Questions & Answers
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Unplug the module and reconnect the factory connector; the vehicle returns to its stock default.
Does it change engine power or fuel trims?
No. It does not reprogram the engine or transmission computers. It only stores the stop-start button state.
Why does my Ford Bronco sometimes not auto-stop even when the system is on?
The factory logic checks battery charge, engine temperature, climate load and other inputs. If any are outside range it keeps the engine running. The module does not affect those checks.
Will Auto Start-Stop come back on when I restart my Ford Bronco?
Not if you turned it off before shutting down. The module repeats your last selection at the next start. If you leave it on, it stays on.
Which Ford Bronco years does this fit?
The listed range is 2021–2026. Check the fitment table on this page against your exact model year.
How does it connect?
It plugs in between the stop-start switch and its factory connector, so the button keeps working as before.
Does the stop-start button still work after installation on the Ford Bronco?
Yes. The factory button works normally. The module simply stores whatever you chose last.
Does it change how the battery is charged?
No. Charging is still managed by the vehicle. Stop-start vehicles normally use an AGM or EFB battery built for frequent restarts; replace it with the same type when it wears out.
Is this the same part for every Ford?
No. Connectors and the module that holds the stop-start state differ by platform, so this SKU is matched to the fitment rows on this page. Send the VIN to support if you are unsure.
What happens if I unplug it?
The vehicle returns to the factory default, with Auto Start-Stop switched on at every start.
Why does Auto Start-Stop turn itself back on every time?
Automakers set stop-start to default to on at each start. Under EPA test rules, a system that stays off after shutdown is tested both on and off and the results are averaged, which lowers the rated fuel economy, so most systems reset at every key cycle. The module carries your last choice across that reset.
Will it fix a "stop-start unavailable" message?
No. That message usually points to the battery or a sensor. Diagnose and repair that first.
Does my Ford Bronco need the factory stop-start button for this to work?
Yes. The module works with the factory stop-start system and its button. A vehicle built without stop-start has no setting for it to remember.
