Product function

Covered vehicles: 2010–2018 Ford Focus. All fitment rows are marked 100% fitment match. The included instructions cover setup for each listed vehicle.

Check these points: Check your year and model against the table. Make sure the factory TPMS works on your sensor-equipped wheels.

Original wheels: Swapping back is covered in the included instructions.

Legal note: FMVSS No. 138 requires TPMS on new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007. Shops are limited by 49 U.S.C. 30122, and state inspection rules vary.

Core function: Direct TPMS on these models matches each wheel sensor by its ID. Wheels without sensors trigger a malfunction warning. This module stands in for those sensors and keeps the dash clear.

Limits: No real pressure readings reach the dash. A monthly cold check against the door-jamb placard replaces the dash warning.

Checking pressure: Set pressures to the door-jamb placard value, not the sidewall maximum. Check before the tires warm up, because heat raises the reading.

Where it helps: Owners running sensorless wheels for part of the year. A constant warning light can hide other warnings, which is why owners want it cleared.

Ordering terms: No-cost standard shipping in the contiguous United States (handling 1–2 business days, transit 3–4). Pre-approved returns are accepted for 45 days, with a 20% restocking fee and customer-paid return shipping. The part has a 3-year limited warranty. Not sure? Email support@automotivebypass.com with your VIN, Monday to Friday 9–5 PST.

Description

The Ford Focus expects to hear from a sensor in each wheel. When the wheels on the vehicle have no sensors, the dash shows a TPMS fault. This emulator for the 2010–2018 Ford Focus provides those signals so the warning stays off. Keep in mind that the module reports what the system expects to see, not what is actually in the tires. A good gauge becomes your tire-pressure monitor.

Vehicles and years

Each row below is listed as a 100% fitment match:

  • Ford Focus: 2010–2018

Use the model and year rows above as the deciding check. Different receivers or sensor configurations within the same nameplate are why fitment is listed this narrowly.

The factory TPMS in brief

Every wheel on the Ford Focus normally carries a pressure sensor with its own ID, and the vehicle only listens for the IDs it has learned. Mount wheels without sensors and those IDs stop transmitting, so the system reports a fault. Under FMVSS No. 138, that fault shows as a TPMS light that flashes for roughly a minute at start-up and then stays lit, repeating on every start until the system sees its sensors again.

Using the placard pressure

Without TPMS warnings, a monthly routine does the job: tires cold, gauge on each valve, compare with the door-jamb placard, top up as needed, and look over the tread and sidewalls. Larger off-road or winter tires may call for different pressures than the factory placard; follow the tire maker's guidance in that case.

Diagnosis first

Before installation, make sure the TPMS system works on the original wheels. If it already shows a fault with good sensors fitted, the problem is in the vehicle (receiver, module or wiring), and that needs repair first. Starting from a working system makes the emulator setup straightforward to check.

When owners use an emulator

It is aimed at vehicles that spend time on wheels without sensors: off-road builds, track days, winter tires on steel wheels, or show vehicles. On each of those, a permanent TPMS light hides any other warning that might appear in the same spot, which is the main reason owners want it gone.

Responsible use

A TPMS emulator removes your low-pressure warning, so manual checks have to take its place: cold pressure readings from the placard, a monthly check at minimum, and a look at tread and sidewalls. Inspection and road-use rules for TPMS vary by state, and federal law limits what shops may disable. Confirm the rules for your situation before use.

Switching between wheel sets

When you go back to the original sensor-equipped wheels, remove or disconnect the emulator as the instructions describe and let the vehicle recognize its sensors again. If the original sensors were rotated or replaced, the vehicle may need its normal TPMS relearn. Store the sensor wheels indoors and keep the valve caps on to keep moisture out of the valve stems.

Scope

  • Supplies the TPMS signals the listed vehicle expects so the warning stays off on wheels without sensors.
  • Does not read, store or display real tire pressures.
  • Does not repair a faulty receiver, body module or wiring.
  • Does not replace pressure checks with a gauge or tire inspections.

Check before you order

  • Your model and year match a row above (2010–2018 Ford Focus).
  • The TPMS system works normally on your original sensor-equipped wheels.
  • No aftermarket TPMS receiver or display has been added.
  • You have a tire gauge and will check pressures manually.
  • Unsure? Email your VIN to support@automotivebypass.com.

Warranty and returns

Shipping is free to the contiguous US. Orders leave in 1–2 business days and usually arrive 3–4 business days later. Returns are accepted within 45 days with pre-approval; a 20% restocking fee applies and the buyer covers return shipping. The part carries a 3-year limited warranty, and support@automotivebypass.com answers Monday to Friday, 9–5 Pacific.

Questions & Answers
Will it fix a TPMS receiver or module fault?

No. Receiver, wiring and module faults need their own diagnosis and repair.

Why does my TPMS light flash and then stay on?

Under FMVSS No. 138, a light that flashes for about a minute and then stays on indicates a system malfunction, such as missing sensor signals, rather than low pressure.

Can I go back to the original sensors?

Yes. Remove the emulator, refit the sensor-equipped wheels and follow the vehicle's normal TPMS procedure.

Which Ford Focus years does this TPMS emulator fit?

The fitment table lists Ford Focus 2010–2018. Match your exact model and year before ordering.

Does it measure tire pressure?

No. It supplies the signals the system expects. Check pressures with a gauge.

Do I still need to check tire pressure?

Yes. Check all tires cold at least once a month with a gauge, using the pressures on the driver-side door-jamb placard.

Will it work on a vehicle that is not listed?

Do not assume it will. TPMS receivers and sensor setups vary by model and year, so match the fitment rows or send the VIN to support.

Is it legal to use on the road?

TPMS is required equipment on new US light vehicles, and rules for owners and inspections vary by state. Check what applies before road use.

Why is TPMS required on US vehicles?

The TREAD Act of 2000 directed NHTSA to require tire-pressure warnings, which led to FMVSS No. 138. All new US light vehicles built from September 1, 2007 must have it.

Can a tire shop work on the vehicle with the emulator installed?

Tell the shop it is installed. Federal law restricts repair businesses from knowingly making TPMS inoperative, so some shops may ask you to remove it first.
